For the tenth year in a row, MINI Cooper enthusiasts from across Iowa and points beyond came together to commemorate the anniversary of the very first gathering of MINI folk in Iowa following the introduction of the “new” BMW MINI in 2002. The 10th Annual MINICooperIowa Fall Tour kicked off with a party and picnic in Marion, traversed the colorful hills and twisties of the northeastern corner of Iowa between Dubuque and Elkader, and completed with a buffet barbeque in Independence. Despite a bit of a wet start, the weather improved quickly and facilitated a fun, spirited, and scenic drive. Of course, the morning rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of our MINI faithful and resulted in a superb showing of 19 MINIs. All in all, it was a great day to enjoy the company of like-minded MINIacs, the fall colors, and some of the best motoring roads in the area.

We extend our sincere thanks to Daryl H. for leading the planning of this event and for the balloons, buttons, posters, “Mini” pop, cupcakes, and all of the trimmings that added a special touch to the event. Thanks also to Rob M. for providing all of the MINI goodies and to Greg B. for facilitating it. Thanks to all of the participants, especially those who came from distant points west (Des Moines and Omaha) and east (Chicago) to join us. It was great fun meeting several new MINI friends too!
