Our annual “Meet and S-cream” ice cream social is back on the schedule, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

The EIM “Meet and S-cream, Part Quatre” and Detailing Day – REDUX will take place on Sunday, September 26 starting with our rendezvous on the south side of Iowa City at 1:00 pm. We will enjoy a short scenic drive south to Riverside, enjoy wonderful local ice cream at Greene Street Sweets, check out the unique Star Trek memorabilia at James T. Kirk’s future birthplace, spend quality time at an awesome group detailing party at the Steig Auto Spa, and finish up with a stop at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort to show off our clean MINIs, raffle off a grand prize for the day, check out the local offerings, and enjoy a superb buffet dinner together (dinner at 6:00 pm).

1:00 pm — Rendezvous at the UIHC Studio Arts Building parking lot in Iowa City (1375 Highway 1 West — at the intersection of Sunset Street). Once we’re all there, depart for Riverside via scenic Sharon Center Road. (route map)

2:00 pm — Ice cream stop at Green Street Sweets (48 North Greene St., Riverside, IA; 319-512-8264). Following ice cream, walk around the corner and visit the Voyage Home Heritage Center and Star Trek Museum (recognizing the future birthplace of James T. Kirk, Captain of the Starship Enterprise, on March 22, 2228)

3:00 pm — Drive 2 mi west on IA-22 to arrive at the Steig Auto Spa, owned and operated by our very own EIMers Bill and Alyce (route map). Spend some quality group time getting our MINIs all clean, shiny, and spiffy; satisfy our OCMD cravings; socialize. Don’t forget to bring along your favorite detailing towels and supplies!

5:00 pm — Drive one more mile west on IA-22 to arrive at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, where we will find a nice, conspicuous location in the parking lot to park together as a group and properly show off our pristine MINIs. Hold a raffle for the generous prize donated by the Casino (a weeknight stay at the resort and two lunch buffets). Spend some time checking out the shops and games.
